Best Tools to Mount LaRue Handguard?

I plan to mount a 12" LaRue handguard and need to buy the tools. I browsed the web for AR tool reviews and see that some wrenches and reciever vice blocks aren't always compatible with with some aftermarket handguards.

If you were going to buy new tools to do this specific job, and wanted the best quality, what brands and models would you buy?

BTW, any tips on a good place to buy LaRue handguards?

One more question:

Can anyone provide the outside diameter of LaRue's handguards?

I am wondering if they are CMP legal.

LaRue uses a barrel nut the excepts the standard GI wrench. Then you add the hand guard nut, spacer and keeper. A supplied allen wrench tightens the two allen screws.

CMP legal? like for service rifle comp? No, you have to have oem hand guards. You can use the ArmaLite floateing kit with oem guards.

CMP rules do allow quad rails, it was added in 2011. They just have some required specs on them, like they have to be 12" long, and the OD must be be 2" - 2.5". This is to recognize the M16A4 configuration as a service rifle.

LaRue rails are similar in size to KAC which I assume would be the rail that they were intending to make legal as the KAC would be the standard issue rail system that would be on M16a4's.

As for installing the Larue rail, I recommend the Dpms claw to hold the receiver and then then check if Larue sells a wrench for their system.
I build uppers every week and never did find a wrench as well made as the one I made for myself.
I used an Armalite steel free float barrel nut and welded a handle on it.
Then I loctited 3 pins into it.
The three pins and the Armalite barrel nut will reach down inside a Larue, knights or Daniel Defense barrel nut like no other wrench on the market.
