Best way to refinish poly synthetic handguards?

I have that plastic type OD green front handguard that has some minor finish wears, what is the best way to refinish it?

I was thinking about refinishing the stock together so that it'll match with whatever paint I use.

Recommendations on paint and instructions on how to get it applied properly?

Spend a lot and use Dura Coat, it's hard as nails. Spend a little and use krylon camo. Scuff with 320, clean with acetone and shoot.
