A case of cheap brew, two drunk, tattooed bleached-blondes and a good view from the porch.

Biker

Those helicopters with night-vision and 20mm cannons and stuff seem to work well in Iraq...

:edited to add..

It's important to this discussion to know if the "scenario" includes crystal-meth crazed biker gangs, or zombies.

We talking:

Zombies
Red Chinese
TEOTWAWKI
Total gun ban counter-revolution
Aliens
Drug Wars
Rampage shooters

or what?

It's very important for civilian forums to have this clear. If it is military question then that's different.

The Urban Assault Vehicle from Stripes.

Or, a Bradley. Yeah, that's it. I want a Bradley. Or maybe an Abrams.

No, wait a minute. A Long Bow Apache.

I changed my mind again. A Wart Hog.

No! An FA-18.

But then I need a carrier. A Nimitz-class carrier, preferably the Ronald Reagan with full complement of aircraft. And good food.

I could have good time with that.

I will have to go with a tire iron. You don't have to worry about reloading and it has a good heft. Don't listen to Biker, alcohol and women will just cloud your mind from becoming an unstoppable killing machine.

(Or maybe you could try the search button)

I'm completely surprised that no one has considered the tactical advantages of the Star Trek transporter system. No need for fancy laser guided or wire guided electronics or any other such silly thing. Just beam the hordes of zombies/chicom soldiers/gun grabbing nanny staters to the Laurentian Abyssal. No muss, no fuss, no collateral damage. If you really want to make a dent, beam any Congresscritter straight to a prison cell any time they tell a lie. :D

Biker, your thinking is warped.:) For total urban madness, I suggest one of our fine northwest micro brews and a olive skinned, dark curly haired Italian lovely.:D

well topic is sound not sure about the above replies though
but ill go with what has worked best for ages a shot gun

Having participated in much urban combat my 2 cents are to go for a Tromix Siaga-12 w/ 20 round drum mag.

There is just no substitution for a good assault shotty if stealth is not a major concern.

I've always had a soft spot for orbital killsats for that kind of thing. If you wanna know what sort of nasty they're capable of, watch the original Bubblegum Crisis anime (not the reimagined BGC 2040, which trades scientific anything for production value)

Actually, a nice hardsuit would be good in pretty much any of those situations you guys described...

If I was going to transport zombies somewhere it would be to Congress where they could do us some good.

On second thought, that wouldn't work. Zombies eat brains. Nothing on the menu in Congress.
