Has anyone here ever ordered (and actually received) ammo from BestShotAmmo.com?

http://www.bestshotammo.com/

They have good prices listed but their response, so far, has been terrible at best. First, my original order for .357 Magnum, sent over a month ago, was "misplaced." Then repeated e-mail and phone calls were necessary to get any response from them. Finally, a week ago, I received a phone call that they found my order and my credit card was charged that same day.

That is the only info I have received. To date, no delivery of ammo, no e-mail indicating that it has been shipped, nor any explanation of some sort of delay.

Now I am starting to get a bit goosey about this situation. I am hoping for some sort of reassurance from any of you as I certainly am not getting any from BestShotAmmo.

They are probably using your credit card for drugs and prostitutes and trading the number to crackheads for hot TVs, guns, and jewelry. There- are you reassured? :D
Disclaimer: I was joking, and I don't have enough resources to make it worth suing me anyway.

Revjen - why bother posting a response, if that's all you're going to say? What about your comment was helpful?

Warhorse - I haven't had any dealing with Best Shot, so I can't speak from experience. When you originally made the order, how long was the deliver time? I'd be upset too, if they "misplaced" an order of mine, but as long as they found it again, and only charged my card after they found it, I'd probably be at least a little reassured. Now, if it's another week and your ammo still isn't at your door - I'd start to REALLY get upset.

If worse comes to worse and your ammo hasn't shown, you should email/call them and inform them that if you aren't given a GUARANTEED delivery date, you'll be notifying your credit card company of possible fraud, and asking them to initiate a charge-back. That's usually the point at which even the crappiest companies start to realize that you're not screwing around and packages start magically appearing at your door. :D

Good luck!

I have the ammo was quite good and worked better than WWB or Blazer, in my .45. They arent the speediest but Kevin at Kaw Valley tries to order from here first.

I haven't dealt with them and doubt I would. Their website isn't very convincing and they have such a limited supply of calibers. They're prices aren't that great either. I just priced 9mm 115gr FMJ from them as well as ammoman.com, and their reloads were more expensive than factory ammo SHIPPED from ammoman.

I hope everything works out, but I wouldn't deal with these guys again.

Kingpin:

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I actually planned to take the action you recommend but plan to give them another day or two before starting to rattle their cage.

Assuming that they really are dealing in good faith, I also plan to give them a piece of my mind re how to conduct a business if they wish to stay in business.

I was hoping to hear some reassurance from someone who had successfully dealt with them. At least one responder (Doc2rn) has done so, at least a bit.

Warhorse - Not a problem. I can definitely understand being anxious when ordering from a new company for the first time - I had a bit of a waiting game when I first ordered from Georgia Arms.

If it's only been a week since they actually shipped, I wouldn't worry too much. A week or two from now, I'd be worrying.

I would agree that a slight talking-to would be in order. Maybe after you get the ammo, call them up and let them know that you recieved it, but politely ask them to review how thwy go about notifying customers of delays or misunderstandings when it comes to shipments. "Misplacing" an order for a month and not notifying the customer about it in a prompt manner is not good business, regardless of how speedy thr problem is handled once it's been discovered.

BTW - Mind if I ask whereabouts in MD you are? I'm in Columbia, and always looking for shooting buddies.

I have had quite a bit of business with them

and ended up really, really angry and frustrated. But I was not out any money and like their product. In 2006 I found them on the net and ordered a 1000 rounds of 45 Colt. Put it on my credit card and got it fast, no problem. Then I think I ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm. Same good experience. I was dealing by phone with a female office person but can't remember her first name. The ammo was all I had expected and hoped qualitywise and I still have a lot of it. Then, I phoned in an order for 1000 rounds of 38 special. Put it on my credit card. I waited and waited and did not get the ammo. I called and talked once or twice with the woman. She had a couple of somewhat plausible explanations. However, the ammo never came although she promised it was in the pipeline so-to-speak. So, I was getting very upset then because...then...no one was anwering the phone. I would call and ring and ring and ring. No one would answer. This went on for many days. My credit card bill came sometime in all of this and they had charged my credit card for the amount. So, I kept phoning every day and finally to my surprise a man answered the phone and he was the company owner. He said the woman employee was going through a divorce and was having a great deal of stress. He was apologetic and offered give a refund either a credit to my card or a check mailed to me. I asked for a check. Well, after a week it had not come and I called back and got him again and he said he forgot and then I did get the check pretty fast. However, I have never done business with them again. I found this National Bullet Co in Eastlake, Ohio and talked with the man, perhaps the owner got 1000 rounds of 38 special and really happy with that also. He also told me how I could simply send in 1000 empty cases and get credit for the brass in any order of 1000 cases (or whatever amount) and even told me to us Postal Service prepaid priority cartons and would be able to send the hulls pretty cheaply that way. So, in any future orders I will probably use National Bullet. However, the Bestshot ammo is fine ammunition in my inexperienced opinion. I am simply a casual range shooter so it works great for that.
