Better leather belt than crossbreed

Crossbreed seconds - same belt at half the price.

I do like Kore though, and they offer a mil discount code for the times when they're not running a sale code (no, they don't stack).
Yeah, I just grabbed one of their brown executive belts off of seconds, $75 new, for $15 plus $3 for shipping, $18 total.

I have a couple Mean Gene Leather belts with the adjustable Aegis buckle.

I really like them, especially the infinite adjustability. My only complaint, though, is that they’re fairly thick, which makes threading holster loops through them difficult. But they easily hold up the weight of my fullsize 1911. I also noticed their prices have gone up since I last ordered one, but then again prices have gone up on everything.

Gene’s a great guy, and he spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted when I asked for a custom buckle engraving. I had it to my door in less than a week after I placed my order. Great customer service and excellent quality leather belts.

Forgot to add, I also have a Beltman belt. Disappointed to hear from others on here who said their Beltman belts didn’t last long. I haven’t worn mine enough, though, since I mostly wear my Mean Gene belts, which have held up fine so far.

I made the mistake of looking at the seconds section of Crossbreed, that just cost me $35.

They price the seconds by size, $15 for the smaller ones, $35 for the midsize, and $45 for the larger ones.

I got the higher priced Executive model, in brown. Came with a higher priced buckle and contrasting white stitching, 1 1/2".

Figured for that price it was worth a shot, plus free shipping.

Here's a link if anyone wants to spend some money, if you're slim, at $15 it seems like a steal: https://www.crossbreed-seconds.com/belts/

For leather, I haven't found better than the Simply Rugged 'Real Man' belt. But I haven't tried a crossbreed belt as I never needed to.

I've got one from Kramer, and my wife and I each have one from Hank's. My Hank's is double layer, and built like a tank. Not an issue with either carrying my Sig 230 X-5 Legion, which comes in a 43.5 oz without a full magazine. Like them both! Hank's has a 100 year guarantee. I am waiting for my shoe guy to get his punch in so that they can be shortened (I'm down almost 44 lbs, but that is another posting).

This thread just cost me $35. Crossbreed belt. Never had a "pistol" belt like this, anxious to give it a try. Although these days I just usually carry a small light weight pistol.

These are the kind of things that are often lost on folks when comparing a $35 Crossbreed with perhaps a $120 Milt Sparks belt.

Both belts are probably strong enough to hold up a gun, but some folks are carrying a Ruger LCP, some are carrying a "duty size" gun like a G19, and some may be carrying a Ruger Redhawk.

The less expensive belt may be thicker, it may be squarer, the belt holes are probably at 1" intervals. If you're using a clip on holster or a production Galco cut with 1.75" loops and you have are 1.5" belt, it won't make a difference. On the other hand, if you have a higher end holster, with meticulously cut loops that are 1.5", that thick/square belt may not work with your holster. If that is the case, the more expensive holster may be worth every penny so you can use the holster of your choice.

The higher end belts will also probably offer 3/4" hole spacing and will be generally better finished, like a dress belt, and may be cut on a contour to where they will feel broken in when you first put them on. The less expensive belt will eventually get that curve, but it may take several years to get there.

There is usually a reason a belt may be more expensive, and it's not because of who's name is on it, but rather the features. Not everybody needs those features, so if you don't, and you don't appreciate them, those belts are a waste of your money. However, for those that appreciate those features, those other belts are available.

My Crossbreed Second just arrived, heck of a belt for $35. I see nothing to qualify it as a second.

Stiff to put on, stiffer still to try and bend to get buckle in belt hole, but within reason. Getting belt end through pants loop already occupied with belt, close fit.

I expect once worn for a while everything will loosen up to a certain degree.

Overall, so far very pleased. Have to see how carrying with it differs from my regular belt which has very little rigidity left in it at this point.

Relentless Tactical steel lined belt on Amazon has been a great carry belt.

I forgot about Galco. As with almost every Galco product, seriously over-priced, but I have one in black that's a great belt. For those that have no problem spending $80-85 on a belt.

Having now worn the Crossbreed for a week, I have to say it's a bit much for an everyday belt, at least for me, since I rarely belt carry.

It's tough to buckle and unbuckle, and very stiff sitting on my hips. Perhaps it will soften with use, but I don't have the patience to find out.

I'm going to keep it for the rare occasions I belt carry, I mostly pocket carry an LCP, but I'm going back to my more comfortable, and less muscles required, saggy old belt for everyday use.

I'll wear it when I re-qualify for HR218 with a S&W duty revolver and a Glock in belt holsters since I don't have my old duty gear anymore..
