Based on nothing more than my own preferences, I'll take the flat base every time. I think the only advantage for a BB, other than ease of loading, is they are easier to cast in automated machines. My feeling, and again, it is only my personal bias, is that I would rather my powder work against the full diameter of the bullet's base. Call me nuts, but I have found more uniform velocities and better accuracy from my 9, 38, 357, 44, 45, and 30 cal flat based bullets. (I am also partial to traditional swc designs and probably 75 per cent of my forty or so handgun moulds are such).
