A lot of people mistakenly believe that all pipelines are public property. This is blatently false.

In fact, MOST piplines are privately owned. They are either owned by the company, or they are owned by landowners whom the company has an agreement with that allows the pipeline to traverse their property.

I have a natural gas pipline that goes through our land.

Remember... assumptions about public land CAN get you arrested for trespassing. I can tell you that from past experiences with trespassers.

True. I used to hunt on private land that had a NG pipeline running through it. As you said, it was still private property. Even then, if the pipeline has signs on it, they are usually owned by the people who put the pipeline in.

60 Years ago I was around a sheepherder that had a '94 rifle in 25-35. He was reputed to have taken bear, running coyotes at over 300 yds. and deer at any range. He'd had the rifle over 40 years at that time and it was the only one he had. His abilities were highly respected by all the ranchers and cowboys in the region.
