I have been mulling over this for months now and I still not sure what my next rifle purchases will be.

First off, I have a Saiga 7.62x39 conversion. Love it. I feel very comfortable with the AK platform. I’m pondering getting the Ultimak Rail and setting up my PK-01 Optic on it instead of the side rail.

Last year I went deer hunting for the first time. Didn’t get anything but I’m definitely planning on that being something I do for now on. Maybe go out a few times a year. I borrowed a friends rifle. He had a few. I had his Savage .308.

I also picked up a Stag AR lower. While I love the Saiga I’m not a fan of the sights and was looking for better accuracy out of .223. So I was planning a AR build.

So before the elections and probably with my vote buying economic stimulus package check (financed by China) I’m going to be making some purchases.

So here are the options I’ve been mulling over.

Deer Rifle- Bolt Action (Maybe a Savage) or a Saiga in .308
I’m thinking the Saiga in .308 is less likely to just sit in the safe.

Do I need a .223 rifle? Should I finish the AR build or stick with Saiga’s?
I’m thinking the Saiga in .308 gives me a more accurate, longer range AK platform rifle \ deer rifle all in one. But do I need a .223??

Do I finish the AR because who knows who the President is going to be and it could be that a year from now my ability as an American to own the classic American rifle may be infringed??

I have a feeling no matter what I decide I’m going to wish I had made a different choice. :uhoh:

Gee, Buyers Remorse before the purchase? Finish the Stag AR build as a high-grade varminter. No flame intended, but you'll be hard-pressed to EVER get a Saiga to be as accurate (re:fun!) as a quality AR. Enjoy your choice!

I would try my best to finish the AR and get another...chances are either one will sell for double your investment sometime next year. I would almost guarantee a WASR10 will be over 1K.
