What else can be said. Stupid people will be stupid whether you confiscate there gun or not. Sure they gave him his gun back, but would keeping it really have kept him from committing the same crime???
And I thought the Germans had this licensing requirement where one had to belong to a gun club for a year, get certified by the club president as being safe with firearms and have a locked storage container to store the guns at their home. Must be a 4th clause in that good ole German law: must be a felon with intent to commit a felony.
The BG was released from prison a month before the new German firearms act was enacted. According to the new law, a person who wants to carry a tear-gas gun or a blank cartridge pistol must obtain a permit. This permit can only be issued to a person without a criminal record.
Because the court which had sentenced the bankrobber failed to officially confiscate that weapon involved in a crime, the warden of the prison had to give back the gun to the BG.
