Hello everybody I am looking to pick me up a bipod soon for my new rifle and I was wondering if we could get a thread full of everybody's rifle/bi/tri pod set up with a description of the set p.

This is the only pic I have that comes even close to what you seek. I'll try to get others later this weekend.

This is my 10-year-old CZ 452 Varmint (.22LR). The bipod is a Harris with individually-adjustable, 9- to 13-inch legs. The scope is a 3-10x40 Shepherd 22LR range-finding/bullet-drop compensating scope. I customarily use a rear bag.

This rifle is set up exactly like my 15-year-old Savage 10FP (.308), so that I can practice longer-range shooting without ripping my wallet off my backside with each shot.

Regards,

Regardless of what length you decide to go with, don't be tempted to save a few bucks on a Harris clone. They might look similar and might work ok for a rifle like a .22. However, they are not as well made and will not hold up as well in the long run.

i agree with coltpythonelite. the harris bipods are well worth the extra money over the cheaper knockoffs.

I have a bipod and buttpad monopod setup so that I can get a solid three points of contact without lugging whats not already on my rifle. Its just the 45 buck slip on pad, not super duper solid like bags but it allows me to get repeatable shots out to 250 yds on 10" steel with very little shot setup time as well as just above 1" groups at 100. And it was this accurate before I threw on the free float (had an MOE HG), just got this changed out 2 nights ago and haven't been able to get it out to the range yet to see what she can do now.

Oops didn't realize I couldn't edit in an upload picture on tapatalk after creating a thread on my computer.

Below is the rarely seen Parker Hale type bipod setup on my .30-06 Tactical Rifle.
Win06t1.jpg
It consists of a metal "stud" that protrudes out of the end of the forearm parallel with the barrel. The bipod slips onto the stud and locks in place via a spring loaded button. It is adjustable for cant, and slips on and off very quickly.

Those are rare don. Especially on a Macmillan a5

Harris 6-9" notched leg, swivel, with pod-loc:)

Yup, got a 6-to-9 as well, for when lower is better.

When I'm shooting longer-range with my Savage, I need the additional height. Where I shoot, the backstop is a mountain. This places the 600-yard targets about 15 feet higher than the top of the shooting benches. The 750-yard targets are about 40 feet higher. The 1,000-yard target is about 90 feet higher, and to get it in my scope I have to put the fully-extended bipod legs up on a section of 2x4!

Those Sinclairs look awesome!

My only rifle with a bipod is my AR. I don't have a good picture handy, but it's a Troy Alpha Rail handguard with a rail piece on the bottom at the end. I have a rail-mounted LaRue/Harris bipod with QD lever. It's nothing fancy, but it works great.
