Braden at Langley Outdoors reports that the Biden administration has requested SCOTUS to review a lower court holding that a person subject to a restraining order (NOT a person who has been CONVICTED of domestic violence) may not have his or her 2A rights revoked. He said SCOTUS is going to discuss this among themselves on Thursday.

I'm not understanding how this is not firearms related. The whole issue of "red flag" laws is whether the person whose guns get confiscated had due process. Most people are OK with a person CONVICTED of domestic violence being prohibited from owning guns, but if a restraining order can be issued just because person x says they're afraid of person y and person y has nothing to say about it, person y loses his or her 2A rights and his or her firearms are confiscated.

Pistol brace, banning lead bullets, now this...I'm sensing a pattern. The Biden administration knows gun owners will never vote Democrat so they use these kind of tactics to satisfy their coalition.

Lead was first banned for hunting during G. W. Bush’s administration in 1991. Its expansion has been continuous ever since. Use of lead on Federal land is banned already in many areas, the proposed, is for more areas. When lead was first banned for waterfowl, claims were that it too would make duck hunters quit in droves because they couldn’t afford steel shot. Comes down to ammunition is the smallest cost when it comes to hunting waterfowl. The gas to drive to the blind is more. The ban on lead is due to well known issues, especially on heavily hunted properties(can you say “public lands”?) and is driven largely by conservation/environmental, not politics. Many folks prefer to use non lead shot for turkeys because it is more effective down range than lead, even though lead is still legal and costs considerably less. Monolithic bullets have proven to be just as effective as lead/cup and core bullets on game. While I agree there are folks that want to restrict gun ownership, I don’t see the banning of lead on heavily used Federal lands as any more than a positive thing. What is good for the environment is good for wildlife and thus, good for hunting.
