Lummis Bill Blocks State Department Interference in Collectible Firearm Importation & Sales

AmmoLand Gun News
Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- Today, U.S. Representatives Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) and Joe Donnelly (D-IN) introduced H.R. 6240, the Collectable Firearms Protection Act.

The bill would prevent the State Department from interfering with the legal importation of surplus collectable firearms from South Korea that were originally made in the U.S.

Nice even if it's a one time deal

But come on, what we need is a bill or even a rider that prevents the executive branch from blocking C&R imports period.

'State department'

'Justice department'

Maybe it's just me, but it seems silly to say 1 has authority while the other doesn't

hey, careful there, Shadow, you start stepping on those historical "butterflies" and there are consequences. <g>

If no KW (say Kim Il-Jung had an embolism), the US Army might not have had to reform many of its combat units. Further, the reduced, post-war forces would have had plenty of "non-expended" WWII weapons, which would have reduced the impetus to change to the M-14, or to improve web gear.

Operationally, helo0supported MASH operations might not have developed as they did. Which would change the things practiced in Emergent medicine.

That latter would have meant my Mom would not have become a nurse. Which would be moot, as, if with no KW, my Dad would not have gotten a NROTC scholarship, and never been deployed to San Diego, where he met an ER RN.

So, not only would our troopies probably still be humping woven cotton LBE (and to mostly guard AFB), I'd not be around to object <G>
