Indiana did not legislate a change in the rules.
Under Mitch Daniels watch and without interference and maybe without consultation the state beurrocrats in charge of the state property and security measures followed the instructions and recommendations of the US dept of Homeland Security. They allowed just enough public notice to comply with state law and not one character more and not publicized more than required.
This kind of action may be listed within a public notice publication controlled and distributed within state circles. In Indiana this is referred to as the Indiana register. A current events journal of FYIs.
Do some research and speak to your legislators who support us on what other avenues the state may and can take to change the rules of the play.
If the FED can get their way by any means available they will proceed to screw with every state in the union.

Interestingly, this same legislation just came up in neighborhing NH: Nashua Telegraph Report
The state rep who proposed the legislation (Kjellman) cited the VA Tech incident as evidence why people should be disarmed in the state house. Ahem. That's right, she cited an example of a "gun free zone" where legally disarmed victims were slaughtered by a madman, as a model for what she wants to do in NH. Brilliant.

Im not aware of any shootings that have taken place in the statehouse in VT. If it aint broke dont fix it.

I hope it doesn't pass. It's a pain in the butt.
Our law prohibits carry in the statehouse - and also on the grounds which includes parking areas. That makes it extremely tough for cc unless you want to park blocks away. There's a bill in the judiciary being worked on now to amend the law. Hopefully, it'll pass this year...
