Birds Landing Sporting Clays, Review & Pictures

Birds Landing is located the Deltas about 65 miles north east of San Francisco. I was in the bay area for a few days so I thought I’d give them a try.

A buddy of mine that had never shot clays before joined me. We arrived to see a nice facility with a 5-stand, 12-station clays course, pro shop and a snack bar.

One of the owners was nice enough to give my friend a 15-minute “mini lesson†on firearm safety and shotgun shooting.

We first shot the 5-stand. It was a good mix of targets and a perfect warm-up. The clays course is a fully automated 12-station course with a clay counter system. Birds Landing makes good use of the gentle rolling hills and tall grass. Most of the machines were hidden from sight.

I found the course to be a little on the "soft" side, but with a couple of challenging stations. Everybody we met there was super friendly.

You have found my old primary sporting clays haunt. I used to go there quite a bit when it fit my budget.

Certainly not the most challenging of courses typically unless the wind is up that day, then it can be brutally tough.

Great pics, makes me miss home.
