I have just aquired a ruger bisley blackhawk with a 7.24 barrel , brand new in the box. It is perfect condition, still wrapped in the green plastic wrap, still has the yellow insert in the cylinder. Brand new in a plastic case, has a small envelope in it with a test fired case, dated 2002. I want an idea of what it is worth?

It's worth what you paid for it. Once I buy something I never consider that again unless I'm selling it and that seldom happens. Being a 41 mag makes it more desireable in my opinion. Neat gun , enjoy it and don't worry about it.

Wow I would have loved to find something like that, especially LNIB and a .41 Mag as well! Sweet!

Cool find! I'd shoot it, personally. If you got it for super cheap and this gun isn't your cup of tea it's probably worth $600+ to the _right_ buyer but really it's not super rare. An old 3 screw NIB, now that would fetch a decent bit more. Cool gun though, regardless.

I happened to "find" one at a gunshow in 1990 - new in the box. First production run with a fluted cylinder (not the roll marked unfluted cyl. they have now). It now has a 2 lb. trigger and polished chambers. I wouldn't take any amount of money for it. At 200 yards it will ring the steel ram every time all day long and the heaviest handloads you can make are very easy to shoot. I am pretty sure the Bisley did not exist until 1986, long after they stopped making 3 screw frames.

To all who posted. Thanks guys! I paid 600 bucks for it, and I will shoot the hell out of it as soon as I can get some ammunition. Found some at Natchez, 210 remingtons box of 50 .... Wait for it...... wait..... 73 damned dollars! I almost fainted. To say the least, I have dies and bullets on the way now.

I'll give you $300 for it, cash money :D

Just getting into the 41 mag myself. I feel like this may be the beginning of a long friendship...

When I picked up my Smith 57 at the FFL yesterday, I thought I'd buy a box of factory ammo, just to compare to the handloads. It was Remington, 210 grain, 50 rounds, for $79.99. I almost fainted as well....

If you REALLY want to see what the .41 Rem. is capable of you MUST handload.

Did you actually buy the factory ammo?

I bought a S&W model 58 .41 M&P in 1966. I paid $81.00 for it and a box of shells.

I shot those rounds and by then I had dies and components to reload. Carried it as a LEO for
13 years and it has still had only 50 rounds of factory stuff down the pipe.

50 rounds, for $79.99
Damn!!! My commercial cast bullet handloads are less than 10% of that.

9mm's are one thing but if you're gonna shoot big bore sixguns any appreciable amount, you have to handload.

Yes guys, I did buy 3 boxes of ammo for it. I also bought dies, and , after looking all over the country found brass and bullets. Finding reloading supplies today is pretty tough. found bullets at midsouth, brass at midway, and dies at natchez. one stop shopping is a thing of the past! Don't even get me started on primers! Alas I've made a bunch of loads and I'm going to go break this baby in tomorrow.

I also shoot 38/ 357mag, .45 acp. 44 mag. I'm kind of giddy to see how the .41 stacks up against the .44 mag. I have an anaconda in .44 mag and it shoots sweet. We will see how the .41 does, I'm sure I'll love it. If it goes boom I seem to like it. Truth is... I'm a long range rifle shooter myself. I just buy the handguns for fun. " If the fight turns to handguns... your to close to the fight!"

Currently I only use it for home defense or range work. I have lost almost all use of my legs. But I ain't ready to lay down and die yet. If I did still hunt I would most definitely use my .41 Bisley. I always wished I could get a lever action rifle in .41 Rem. I used to live in Alamagordo (Holloman AFB/White Sands) and I love NM. GREAT food and great people.

Drail, That's neat I live in nowwhere land NM . If you lived here you know what I mean! We are 37 miles east of Corona NM and 80 miles north of Roswell, and as a crow flies due north about 23 miles from Vaughn NM. I own a small ranch here and I love it, the past few years haven't been kind to us with the drought, but I wouldn't live anywhere else. Besides... where else in the whole country can you get real green chilies! I made up some rounds last night and they are... .210's pushed with 17.5 grs of 2400. I took the pistol out this afternoon and at 100 yards I put 3 out of 5 in the bulleye iron sights. I love the way this thing shoots, flat and true.

Drail, The recoil is about what I get out of my .44 mag, but it is a lot easier to control the weapon with the bisley grip. I'm telling you... I think it out shoots my anoconda hands down! I'm guessing you were airforce or were you working for the base? Either way .. Thank You for your service! I live in the military fly zone here and we see the jets and bombers everyday coming over the ranch. You want to talk about firepower! Those babies have it in spades! I love this country!

Hey Hammerdown, I think you can buy a Taurus toy for 300 bucks, but I wouldn't recommend it! The .41 has impressed me so far. I don't get the oppertunity to hunt much, but if I do I think I'll try playing with this handgun. I carry pistols on my 4 wheeler when checking fence, in case I jump a coyote, other wise I shoot rifles. I have a range here at the ranch, I shoot from 100 to 1000 yards . Call it a whim! I love the long range stuff!

Hey Iggy! In 66 I was 2 years old! Nice piece though! I bought a colt trooper .357 mag in 1982 for 180 bucks, don't you long for the good old days!
