Are these illegal to carry with out your concealing permit? Or are they banned in general? I have a 8" one that would be the "flat sap." "bucheimer made since 1884 and towson quality" This is imprinted on it.

The law varies state by state so no blanket response is going to work for your jurisdiction.

If your state issues a weapons as opposed to a handgun permit you're more likely to be legal with the permit. Again, you have to read the law for your state to know.

Hso's reply is probably the best advice you're going to get, unless you divulge what state you live in, if you're in the US. then, someone could more accurately answer your question with an actual citation of law.

Follow the law and what you have is a Classic. Bucheimer has made good quality police items for a long long time. I wish more states would allow us to carry slaps. They work well and depending upon application can range from I leave you alone to out cold on the floor to the Funeral home.

I reside in Indiana, and yes, it is very good quality. Feels great in your hand and the strap is in great shape. Was passed down from an upper generation and I respect him greatly for giving it to me.

You'll need to check the Indy laws on clubs/saps/etc. to see whether carrying it is permitted or not.

If it is, put your heirloom away and purchase a new one for carry. You have a great piece of weapons history in hand and it would be a pity for it to end up in an evidence room with some toll's hair sample on it.
