I know that a muzzleloader pistol does not have to be registered like a normal pistol. If I were to Conceal carry or open carry do I have to get a permit? Can I just walk around town with it on my side open carry with no paperwork?

To conceal carry you would still have to have a CPL. Open carry you could do without a permit, but expect to be harassed by the police of any city.

In New York state, no permit is required to purchase or possess percussion handguns, However, if one intends to shoot it, the handgun must go on a pistol permit. Prior to, I believe 1975, all percussion handguns, modern or antique, had to be registered, regardless if it was going to be fired or not,
