I am interested in getting a Blackhawk Serpa holster for either a Glock 21SF or Glock 30SF. From reading, it sounds like you get a paddle and a belt loop attachment with the Serpas. Can you can't it for cross draw? I am interested in how much extra holster there is if the Glock 30SF is inserted since my understanding is that the G21SF and G30SF use the same holster, but the holster is a little long for the 30. Please provide pics and opinions if possible. Thanks.

How is the Serpa with respect to concealed carry? Does anyone have links to videos demonstrating the canting or pictures? I haven't been able to find anything online.

If you carry under a suit coat or light jacket it works fine. There are other OWB non-paddle holsters that will hide better, so if you don't want or don't plan on using the paddle you could get a holster that will hide a little better. Also make sure you get the Serpa CQC and not the Serpa Sportster. Of course this all assuming strong side carry. If you plan to carry cross draw (as it sounds like you might be), I have no idea because I have never carried that way.

op

the serpa has a cant to allow for crossdraw, if you buy the holster in the paddle type you can order the belt attatchment form blackhawk that will allow you to remove the paddle. i think this is the best option as it gives you many options for carry.

i've carried my glock 26 in a blackhawk serpa. i usually just wear a long button up shirt to cover the gun. i think as far as concealed carry goes it works much better using the belt attatchment instead of the paddle. i use the paddle option for when i go in the woods or out shooting with friends. sorry no pics of it concealed.

I use and like the SERPA for a G19, using the belt attachment. It also came with a paddle. Mine is the carbon fiber one. It's a fast, comfortable, excellent holster; but it is not the easiest to conceal. If you want to maximize concealment in an OWB you need a leather pancake type that will hold the gun as close to your body as possible.

I've got a Serpa for the S&W j-frame, it sticks out like a tumor, doesn't matter if I'm using the belt or the paddle attachment.

When I went looking for a secure, concealable 1911 holster I didn't even bother with the Serpa, went with a Safariland ALS 6377. Much easier to conceal and the release isn't exposed.

Ditto on the double attachments on my 1911 serpa. And ditto on the impossible to conceal aspect as well. They're well made but the design isn't great. Of all the products I've bought from blackhawk, the serpa holster has been the only one I regret or would get rid of. I've personally seen a serpa jam to the point where we had punch the hinge pin out with a punch and hammer to get the gun out of the holster thanks to a tiny rock getting under the lever and it conceals in the same way that a pair of spinner hubcaps and a plywood wing make a civic a classy car.

I just got a serpa model for a 1911. I got it as a gift and heck, it will make a good range holster and it wouldn't be bad for OC although I don't do that as an every day practice. I wouldn't recommend it for concealment because it doesn't hold high and tight enough for me. If you had a large jacket on it wouldn't be a problem though.

There's one problem with it. The belt slots are way too close together for a very stiff belt. I have a wilderness belt with the polymer insert and getting that through the belt slot in the serpa is not easy. I put the paddle attachment on and it works ok. I have not used it much since I've only had it a week so I can't say too much about it.

Is anyone familiar with Blackhawk's 3-slot pancake nylon holster? I know Blackhawk makes good stuff. This seems like another viable option. Thanks.

Look into the Safariland 6378 holster. It is similar to the Serpa, but has the retention button next to the belt line instead of outside the holster. It is much safer and a much better built holster. Very close on price as well.

Contact your local LE supply store and ask about them.

I found the Serpa design to be very practical as far as retention & quick access goes, but entirely too thick & bulky for regular concealed carry.

Great range/oc holster. I really like how the retention system puts your finger right along the frame after draw. Some will tell you it is dangerous...I don't see it. But YMMV. As has been said before, not very concealable, though.
