Peter Alexander, author of The Gunsmith of Grenville County (the newest book on building BP guns) is offering summer classes on building a long rifle. Classes are limited to 3-6 students, are 14 days long and cost $250 U.S. dollars. That's cheap folks. The NMLRA will charge $900 for a 9 day class. You start with a pre inletted barrel (something I just learn to do myself this month) and inlet the buttplate, lock, sideplate, pipes (thimbles), triggerguard, trigger and perhaps even decorative inlets.
Three sessions are offered: Class #1 July 7-20, Class #2 August 3-17, Class #3 Aug 18-31.
Contact Peter Alexander at 808 Townline Road, R. R. #4, North Augusta, Ontario, K0G 1RO, Canada, or (613-924-2777) or email @ [email protected].
He's 60 miles from Ottawa and you can camp there on his property or rent a motel (remember the Canadian $ is only about 55 - 60 cents to ours).
I wouldn't mind going myself, but need to go to VA to do research on an unrelated matter.
C'mon guys, join the fun and grow your own.
