But it's a good confused, if that makes any sense. See, my birthday's coming up, and I'm having trouble deciding what I should buy myself. So far I'm stuck between choosing the following:
Kimber Custom II - .45 ACP (Of course)
Why: Why not get a 1911, especially considering I've never had one. (Or a steel frame automatic for that matter. Pure heresy, huh? ) It will take too much space to explain why I chose Kimber as of now, but my mind is open to other 1911s, as well.
Browning Hi Power MK III - 9mm
Why: I LOVE HI POWERS! Yes, just as much as 1911s. (There goes my blasphemous mouth again.) It actually feels better in my hand than a 1911, only concern is I have big hands and I'll have to bob the hammer. And remove that stupid magazine safety.
Jericho 941\Baby Eagle - 9mm or .40 S&W
Why: Heard great things about it, fell in love with the looks, and I love Israeli made arms.
S&W 686 - .357 Magnum
Why: I want a .357, it's supposed to have a great action and be quite accurate, and it looks great. (Though I'll probably end up having it matte chromed, blued, or have some other finish put on it if I get one. I hate the scratches that show up on stainless. Ruins an otherwise beautiful firearm.)
Those are the main three, but I've also considered the AR-24, other 1911's such as the Taurus PT1911 and Springfield's Loaded model, S&W M&P in either .40 or .357 SIG, Springfield XD, and the Taurus 24\7 Long Slide. If given good enough reason, these will become eligible again, even though I'm leaning towards a steel frame gun. Most of these I've held in my hand, with the exceptions of the 24/7, Jericho, AR-24, and the Springfield. Oh, and any suggestions to save my money and buy a Glock will be ignored. Not because I hate Glocks, I'm one of the few who think they feel comfortable, I like the grip of all the others better. Oh, one more thing of importance is I can get all of these for under $700, likely closer to $600-$650 for the Kimber, PT1911, and Hi Power for NEW guns. I don't feel comfortable buying a used Kimber, as I've heard about their "lemons" and know that's what I'd likely get. Now, without further adieu, what do you all recommend?
