wally...I picked up my PT92 a while back and it is a great gun! My uncle has it now since his only gun broke and he can not afford a new one, so I let him use my PT92 for his house gun.

I only have 2 Tauri now , a 669CP in atainless and a 85CH . I've owned a 669 and a PT99AF for a total of 4 , in the years all have worked flawlessly .

I got a taurus titanium revolver and the gun would sieze up sometimes after closing the cylinder. This happened right after I got it home from the gun shop. They gun shop guy sent it back to taurus for me. I got it back with an extra crappy trigger and a letter telling me what they did. The problem was still there however.

I called them and they asked me if I had shot it yet, I hadn't and did't want to shoot a malfunctioning gun. After going back and forth I sent it back. It came back with a really nice trigger and another letter of more stuff they did. It felt different and I was confident the problem was fixed so off shooting I went.

It did it again when shooting. I traded it for a keltec sub2000. I have a taurus .357 snubbie that shoots great but I don't think I will chance another taurus.

I wanted to believe.

I bought a Taurus Model 66 .357 Magnum back in the days when the right recoil shield was part of the side plate. It was a dandy gun, but I traded it off after I got a S&W M629.

My brother bought a Taurus PT111 when they were new and still carries it when his Kimber Pro Carry II weighs him down or is too bulky.

I just bought another Taurus 87UL in stainless (a guy traded it in on a bigger Ruger .357) at my local gun store for a terrific price. I only hope this one is as good as the last one I bought and foolishly traded away for the "9mm of the month" (also long gone). The 85UL will be my backup for my 3 inch S&W M13. The KelTec will be relegated to my backup's backup. (Yes, I will carry three guns on occasion.)

I own a PT145 and carry it as well - and it rests next to me at night - just in case I need to answer the door at night :scrutiny:

It seem's like the ultra light and titanium guns in the Taurus line are the most trouble prone. I think they're all steel guns are good for the most part.

I too own quite a few Taurus handguns:
605 2" stainless
PT145 millinium stainless
450 ultralite
PT1911 blue w/factory rosewood grip panels
Also, 3 silohettes (12" barrel)
17 hmr, 22 lr, and 357 mag
Would like to find them in 22 mag and 44 mag to finish out the series.
I have heard that they also made these in 218 Bee, but have not been able to confirm this.

Am very pleased with all of the above. Would not hesitate to purchase more in the future.

Since I have not had any problems, I have not had any dealings with Customer Service/No Service, but will pass on a letter to the editor I read in a gun rag a few years ago.

The guy had purchased a PT92 at a flea market. Everything worked properly, except that he could not adjust the rear sight. He contacted the factory and sent them the gun back. 4-6 weeks later, he got a package from the factory. Seems that they could not fix the problem, so they sent him a brand new gun. Not a bad deal for a lifetime warranty on a gun that they knew he bought secondhand.

Mike, how does the 500 mag shoot? I own the S&W 4". Have shot the 8-3/8. Nite and day recoil wise. Curious as to how the Taurus compares.

I own three: a 605, a Tracker 357 6", and a 24/7 DAO in 9mm. The latter has been flawless with ~2K rounds through it. My one experience with customer service -- involved a problem with the 605 that was more a reflection on me, than than the gun (I lost a spring) -- was okay; it took a couple of weeks longer than expected, but otherwise went well.

I have a Taurus and like it and Rugers, Smiths, Colts and Keltecs I haven't found a firearm I dislike yet , I have a real problem.

I had a second gen PT145 that I broke the screw off of that holds the rear sight while trying to install night sights. I took it to my gunsmith who couldn't find a tap the right size and even if he could he didn't have a screw that size, yada, yada, yada. Sent it to Taurus. Taurus fixed it, threw in a spare magazine for free, sent it back in less than two weeks and they charged me nothing. I have no reason to buy any other make except that they don't have a 10mm semi auto. I traded in my second gen PT145 last Sunday at a gunshow for a third gen PT145. I prefer the new trigger and Tuesday night at the indoor range at seven yards offhand shot a ten round single ragged hole in a target. It shoots to the poa also.:)
