Blown Primers in AR

You might try measuring the fired cases from your gun and your friend's, to verify that the chambers are not widely different. I measure just forward of the extraction groove.

You could also try loading the fired case in your friend's rifle, and his in yours. Do not let the bolt slam seat the case.

I can understand how overpressure loads will blow primers, but I also don't understand why factory PMC loads would. Why would a normal rifle have problems with factory ammo?

A custom match chamber with tighter neck and shorter throat dimensions may have problems with some factory ammo.

I had a TC Encore chambered in .223 Rem that would not accept ANY 5.56 Nato and some .223 ammunition. The bullets needed to be reseated deeper to get them to chamber. Decided to handload exclusively for the TC.
