I'm heading up elk hunting next week. Taking the Savage 99 in 308 with it's ancient old Redfield wide field scope for the nice days, and the 95 Win. in 405 if it gets snowy and the hunting turns into the thick timber. Funny how that plan never works out tho, usually end up shooting something up close in the timber with the scoped gun, and the 405 gets stretched a bit.
I just got a 71 but haven't had time to work with it so it'll have to wait till next year.

Someday I hope to stumble across one of the steel frame 81's in 7mm08.

I have that model, but in .358 win. It's been a deer slayer for 30 years

Antelope jerky is in the oven drying as I speak. Taste tested the 1st round and it is a good one. I love antelope. IMO the most beautiful of the North American Big Game. Nice job!

I've got an old BLR81 in .358 topped with a Vortex 2-7, love shooting it.
