I'm wondering if anyone has gone down this road, I have had very good results with BD in a bolt action .308 Win. with 125 Nosler BT and good results with BD in a Glenfield 30-30 Win. using Extreme's 150gr plated RNFP.
So I have some Extreme plated 123gr 7.62x39 (.312 dia.) FP I would like to try in a Ruger Ranch, just thought I'd check.
Thanks.

Lyman has had some cast bullet data for BlueDot. It will give you a starting point.
Before Hercules became Alliant, their annual guide had some silhouette pistol data and iirc there was some 7.62x39 data.

I used some BD with the Lee 160gr PtdGC .311” cast bullet in some 7.62x39 for an SKS. I removed the gas piston and cycled the action as a straight pull bolt action.
It worked but wasn’t remarkable. About like a “slow” Unique.

Haven’t tried BD but I’m loading 123 gr Hornady FMJ with 27 grains of Reloader 7 and it shoots great out of my 16” AR.
I've been using 26.8- 27gr of 1680 with a Nosler 123gr VG with very good results seated about the middle of the crimp groove for a COL of 2.183" in the RAR. Velocity is 2375-2400 fps

I've used Green Dot for 22-250, 30-30 Win & 7.62x39 with load data from the 11th edition Speer manual and some load data from castboolits website that might be worth a look-see for comparison data

Blue dot has been proven to be spikey in some loadings. I wonder if using transducers and retesting is the reason some loads are dropped. Also I find BD to burn dirty unless run near max. This and it being spikey are reasons for me to stick with current data as to where it will be used. There is other data with other propellants that are still published and I would use those first. FWIW I treat extreme heavy plated as jacketed and use those loads when loading. YMMV

I have not tried RL-7 how does it meter?
I like 1680 because it meters well and I don't feel the need to weight the charges like I do with H-4198.

I love Rx7 in 5.56mm, but my go to for 7.62x39mm has always been AA1680. Nowadays, beggars can't be choosers, might just see about stocking up on Rx7 for both. As for metering, Rx7 is a semi-stick powder and can hangup in my UniFlow. 1680 meters like water. But, the loads with Rx7 tend to be very very close, and the end results have always been good.

1680 is pretty fine and I get a little leakage out of Lee Autodisc. RL7 meters well within what I need for 7.62x39 on a Lee progressive press with the Autodisc.
