Has the price of 42's gone down? Last I remember they were bouncing between 400-475, but I just saw a couple threads from early 2012 where they were only asking like 350. Were these fakes? Desperate sellers? Or has the price gone down on these things?

It may be just me and again, may be a sign that I have nothing to offer when I ask it - but... What's a BM42?

Yea but everything BM offers now is sandwich style. I truly believe they will never offer another channel style balisong. Not that there's a darn thing wrong with their sandwich balis, I EDC a BM51.

And yea, to the other guy - it is a balisong that can no longer be purchased and now sells for double to triple its original price. Its also one of the best flippers ever created.

Desperate sellers. The economy still isn't the greatest, and the holidays are coming. Toys must go.

so..... what is a fair price on one? i had toyed with the idea of selling mine because it falls into that weird little catagory: too expensive to carry, not special enough to keep if it can't be used.

however, for the prices i saw folks selling them at, i wouldn't even bother. unless i could atleast get a Romanian G kit (with matching #'s and original bbl) or something similiar, i say to hell with it, the thing can collect dust til the prices go back up.

i just wanted to know because last i remember they were in the mid 4's. i even saw one guy (i think he is on HERE) pay 650 for one because it was NIB w/papers and everything. you know..... the way they came back when they were a buck fotey :D

i was also eyeing that Suomi carbine and thought maybe my 42 could finance that. truth is - mine has turned into kind of a useless knife. every two or so weeks, i take it out, flip it for 5 minutes, then put it away. now its cousin - the 51, that thing is on me every waking moment and, when i sleep, it is 2 feet away.

way off topic, but i tell ya what i would love to have is one of the Roton balisongs. those things just seem so massive, kind of a 'flippin fixed blade' :)
