Yet ANOTHER compact 9. I'm not sure why this thing would be any better than my P11 or a CW9 or PM9 or a Rohrbaugh which is in the same price range they're talking about and smaller. But, it's another one coming to the sub-compact 9 market and should appeal to the "get what you pay for" crowd since it's expensive. These folks don't seem to care whether the gun works so long as it's expensive, so I'm sure they'll get some sales with that market segment. Lots of BS about "tight chambers" and stuff in the marketing spill. Almost have to put on hip waders to read this tripe. LOL! Longer barrel? Well, I doubt the BG is gonna know the difference. 9x19 is pretty efficient out of 3" barrels.

The action is interesting, but I fail to see any real practical advantage. More will be known, though, when it's on the market. But, any perceived advantages in that promotional tripe, well, I don't think they're going to change the nature of the firearms industry, put it that way. I'm not selling a 100 percent reliable and accurate P11 for it and if I was wanting the SMALLest 9 out there, the Rohrbaugh is still it.

Thanks for the link. I shall read up a little more. But, if a little extra barrel length is it's main advantage, ain't that much of an advantage, not in 9x19, a very efficient round. I've chronographed a 5" vs 3" +P and there ain't a lot of difference, about 40 ft lbs in energy.

Now HERE's a different design if what ya want is a different design. LOL! Posted this in the BP forum in answer to a post of a very weird cap and ball gun of the past. I wonder if that gun was this one's inspiration? :D

I will say this, a little more researching and the stuff I found this gun on at another board, I think it might sell. Seems to be a lot of interest and, as Taurus has PROVED to me without doubt with the Judge, a gun doesn't have to offer a real benefit over other guns to sell like crazy right out of the chute. I ain't too smart on marketing cause I will NEVER figure THAT one out, LOL!

Most of us already have more guns than we could practically ever need.

This is a hobby, so anything new and interesting is welcomed. This is definitely new and interesting.

Think of it as an excuse to buy another gun.

I HEARD THAT! ROFL However, a subcompact 9 is a USEful firearm for me and I tend to collect redundancy in revolvers, perhaps shotguns, maybe rifles, for sure black powder cap and ball/long guns. Whatever turns you on, though. If a person likes to collect sub compact 9s, he'd better be well healed cause there are a lot of 'em on the market, and for good reason. I think they're one of the most logical, practical carry platforms out there. At least this new gun will be in a high demand market even if it's saturated with competition.

#1

They need to start making the gun and quite "hyping" a product that you made 2 of which when making proto's they are usualy one of a kind, with mostly all hand fitting and special maching to produce such a thing.

Only when production gets going and the gun is out on the market will we be able to tell if it is worth the money. It certainly has alot of moving parts that sure in hell has to be in correct timing in order for the gun to function. I would hate to guess what extra magazines will cost even.. It certainly is small and like the Rohrbaur, expensive but still it sells so realiabiliyt has to be #1 and also not picky for ammo either.

The problem with hip waders is they always leak over the top.:)

You may call it tripe, but what we have done is taken the performance of guns the size of a Sig P226 and lopped 40% off the overall size and 10 ounces off the weight (minus the magazine capacity). To some, this may not seem like a big deal. But then why do manufacturers even make +P ammunition? Maybe because consumers want the extra 25-30% kinetic energy? The Boberg XR9 accomplishes this without ever going to +P.
