My company has me make frequent trips to our offices in Alexandria, VA. With my Texas CHL I can legally carry on that side of the border but can't go anywhere in DC with viable means of self-defense. :barf: I'm thinking of getting a IIA vest for places where I can't otherwise legally defend myself. I hate going to DC but oftentimes I have no choice.

Where can I find information about the legality of body armor in DC? Am I able to wear it there without LE locking me up?

Should not be a problem

I have not heard of any laws anywhere in the U.S. restricting the ability of anyone to wear body armor if they are not engaged in a criminal activity. I know that some jurisdictions make it a crime to wear body armor while commiting a crime. I don't see how you would run afoul of this unless you were carrying your gun as well.

You might want to call the D.C. cop shop just to make sure.

Keep in mind, DC is a complete and total victim disarmament zone. You have to register pepper spray.

So yes, definetly call the proper authorities and see if it's legal first. I'd imagine not, given DC's outlook on public safety.
