Gents,
I have a .243 that will click but not bang. Trip to the gunsmith got a diagnosis but not a cure. Apparently some previous owner wanged on the bolt too hard and bent the bolt handle, so instead of the bolt rotating a full ninety, it only rotates ~45 and the then the bolt handle encounters stock.
There are two solutions here. 1) bend the handle back. Which I believe me and a jewelers oxytorch and can fix by carefully orange heating a line then carefully bending it back. Or...2) just buy a new bolt (body?).
Any suggestion on the formers, and tips on where to buy and knowing which to buy on the latter?
