I acquired this Knife a While Back. It is a Bicentennial 1976 Boker Heritage of Freedom Knife.
The Box and all The Paperwork are Correct, as is the Flag on the Blade. The Catch is that these
Knives Came with Cracked Ice Celluloid Handles. THIS Knife has Absolutely Beautiful Stag Handles.
There is no mention of the Stags in the Paperwork. I have the Collection Book with the Knife in it.
It even Mentions the fact that the Celluloid handles were Very Problematic due to The Celluloid breaking down over time. This Causes Shrinkage, Gassing that will cause general Corrosion on the blade as well as the other hardware. I had one before and that was exactly what happened to it. Handles Shrank Like Crazy too. I am thinking That a very Good Knife Smith Must have replaced the
handles, or it was done by Boker. Knife was made in Germany. Either way it was a Great Job. I can't
find a single Flaw. Coolest Stag Slabs Too.

Nice fit indeed. Nice , clean looking knife.

I would love to see some examples of said shrinkage.

Yea I got rid of the one I Had. Celluloid is some weird Stuff. It Can go for Years with no issues Then Suddenly start falling apart. I have seen handles Crack. Blades totally rusted out. Funny thing is it does Not seem to affect stainless steel Blades. I have seen handles falling apart and not affect the stainless blades. Of course the rest of the knife is falling apart. There is a red handled Fight'n Rooster on Ebay right now and the handles are cracking on it. They can even affect other knives that are Near them. Had that Happen to. Was a Boker that had Red candy Striped Handles. Gave it away as a user to my son.
