Can anyone offer any tricks to disassemble a 541-T bolt? I use a Kleinendorst tool for Remington 700 bolts. As far as I can tell, it would work fine for the 541-T if only the hook was about 0.3" longer. Brownells doesn't seem to have an appropriate tool.

Thanks,

Well, the .22 RF 541-T bolt has nothing at all in common with a centerfire 700 bolt, except it's a bolt.
So I don't know about any 700 tool working, or even being needed.

Here is a schematic parts list.

To dissemble the bolt.
1. Clamp the bolt body in a padded vice.
2. Use a screwdriver or something to pull the cocking piece back into the bolt plug.
3. Unscrew the bolt plug assembly from the bolt body.
4. Once out, clamp the striker assembly in the padded vice and use a small punch to drive out the cross-pin.
5. At that point the whole mess will fly apart from striker spring pressure, so get ready to catch it!
6. Then, you can drive out the bolt body cross-pin and separate the bolt head from the bolt body.
7. Use a jewelers screwdriver to pry off the spring extractor and the rest off the parts will fall out on the floor.
