Hi Everyone. I love my new CZ 527 in .223. I almost wet my pants when I saw how accurate it is. But the bolt is rough, and it's difficult to make a follow-up shot without the bolt sticking at least once. The guys at the range said it was one of the worst they'd seen. They told me to dump FP-10 on it and if that doesn't work take it to a gunsmith. What will a gunsmith do to fix the problem and how much should I expect it to cost me?

Try a very light lubing and work it while watching a couple hours of TV before going the smith route. The races may be a bit rough and just need some polishing to loosen up. Don`t over lube, you want some wear to occure when you work it.

If the bolt drags while pushing the bolt fore-aft, you can polish the lug ways in the receiver with strips of 800 grit wet & dry paper. If it drags while lifting or lowering the bolt, that's a lug face issue a gunsmith should address because it involves headspace.

the cz bolt is famous for being sticky, sit in front of a t.v. put some lube or flits on it, and work it about 1 million times. or just learn to guide it from the back, with a quick thumb push.

Thank you for the suggestions

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried everything but the 800 grit paper. Dropped the rifle off today at the gunsmith; he's going to take a look at it. When I dropped it off, he said he owns a CZ 527 .223 too. He "loves the gun" and talked about it at great length.

Surely he can smooth it out! He's booked for 6 weeks, so I got in line. We'll see what happens. Thanks again.
