not too "basic" though...

I used to be into the BP hobby a little back in the 1980s. I had a CVA pistol that I shot, using Pyrodex. Haven't been in the hobby since then.

acquaintance is selling a nice T/C Hawken percussion .50 cal, was thinking about buying it for my son, and for a hobby for us to both enjoy together. We both go shooting quite a bit. He loves the idea of "muzzleloaders" and would like to have one.

what's a good general book on BP shooting? I tried the Search, but I can't get it to do anything...

I downloaded the Thompson Center .pdf muzzleloader manual. It's 92 pages of information (seems like a quarter of the book is WARNINGS...).

I'll probably stick to the T/C manual for now.

thanks. the Fadala book looks good. It's $19.79 at amazon with free shipping. Looks like it is in the 5th Edition now, since Nov. 2006.
