I've just found Barnes CR 10 and the stuff is amazing me. In all of the cleaning I've done lately I may have work my poor clean rod to hard as it snapped into three pieces this afternoon. :banghead: I made do with the Mosins cleaning rod being it was the Mosin I was clean for the umteenth million time since I've found the CR10.

Seriously, I've gone through two bags of patches in a weeks times so I was wondering if it might be safe to plug the bore on the Mosin and soak the bore with CR10 over night. Beside would it be okay to take an old brass brush to it in the morning?

This stuff could potentially bring a new life to the Mosin but I'm getting sick of cleaning by way of the directions and don't want to have to buy in to too many more bags of patches too soon.

when i got mine i plugged the barrel and filled it with acetone. let it soask and it clened uo nice.

It tells you to not leave in the bore more than 15 min at a time. There is a reason for that. It can cause your bore to pit and rust if left in too long.
