I have a .22lr Henry lever action that my mother in law gave me for Christmas.
I bought a boresnake to run through it but man, it seems real hard to do. Harder than it should and so I haven't used it.
I can probably physically do it I'm big and strong but I don't want it to break and get stuck in the barrel.

Is such resistance to being pulled through normal for a boresnake? Any tips, tricks I need to know?

TIA,

Nico

The first pass on a dirty barrel is hard to pull, but gets easier on the 2nd pass, and so on. I run mine dry, and have never broke one.

Both of my .22 boresnakes are difficult to pull through all of my .22 rifles and pistols. Believe me, the first couple of times I wondered if the snake was stuck or oversized, but apparently not.

my henry 22mag,22pump,22bolt,10/22 and 10/17 is hard to pull when dirty then as said above it gets easier when it gets cleaner.....30cal's are not to bad...

the smaller the bore, the harder they are to pull.

I drop the lead string through and place my foot over it and pull the gun up. If it is still too hard, I wrap the lead string around something like my workbench support and then pull - it doesn't hurt the hand that way

I sure do! She's very generous.
She gave me a Remington 1100 in 20 gauge last year.

This year, my wife gave me a Remington 700 CDL in .270.

And thanks everyone for responding. I won't be afraid to use my boresnake now.

I'm gonna take the Henry and the .270 to the range Wednesday.
Hope to take a deer or two over the holiday and gotta get the .270 sighted in.
