I just purchased a 2nd new Legion P226 SAO. I was wondering if anyone else that owns one of these could tell me if their pistol does as follows:

When engaging the safety, I notice that the trigger shoe will move rearward ALL BY ITSELF approx 2mm. That is, when you watch the trigger shoe and WITHOUT TOUCHING IT, while flipping up the safety, the trigger moves back in unison with the flick of the safety.

I hope I'm describing it in the best terms. It does this whether cocked or not cocked.

One of my Legion SAO's does this while the other does not ???? Both function fine, just wondering if others have noticed this. Can anybody possibly check theirs for me?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I spoke with Sig customer service today.

The rep double-checked with another armorer and said that this trigger movement is "normal" and that it's common on the X5 series as well.

They said it has something to do with the "right-side" safety. I told them I have two separate Legion SAO's with one having the trigger movement while the other does not.

Then I asked, which pistol is "normal"...the one that moves or the one that does not ?

The rep then says "both are normal".

Uhh...ok I guess.

I think you're confusing "normal" with "correct", rather than how they are using it to mean "within spec"

It is much like folks thinking that their polymer pistol is malfunctioning if the slide releases when a full magazine is inserted firmly

Basically, the Sig rep is telling you that some do it, some don't, but it's okay either way and within the range of normal tolerances. I've seen other pistols where the trigger moves when putting the safety on. It's not a big deal. When you're disengaging the trigger from the action, some movement is understandable as that forward pressure is removed or changed.
