been looking for a Bisley Blackhawk in 45LC with a 7.5" barrel to go with my new 1892 so I'd have a companion pistol. Tried to be cheap and missed a nice one on auction at Rock Island last week. Then I'd been stalking a Turnbull on GB, but yesterday someone bid it up to $2k, which is too much no matter how bad you want one.

Kind of disheartened and I wondered how long I'd have to wait to find the gun I was looking for. Bisley, 95-98%, 7.5" barrel, warning under the barrel instead of along the side. I settled in to not thinking about it so much and was even wondering if I wanted to spring for a Freedom Arms instead.

Then today I think I just had kind of a subtle tingle, and I went back to the very small gun shop web site of the small Carolina retailer I found my 41 magnum Bisley over the summer. Guess what they had? Exactly what I was looking for, and for less money than I was willing to spend. Sold.

I actually just bought a 45LC die set and over the weekend I managed to get my hands on 200 45LC brass at a gun show I went to. I'll place an order for some bullets tonight. I already ordered a cross draw holster for the above pistol. I have one bucket list firearm left after this pistol, and a short list of interesting ones that I would buy if the right gun shows up at the right price but that I'm in no rush to find. I used my firearm acquisition disorder as a tool to get through a crappy 2020, I'm ready to slow down now.

I purchased 1K starline brass to feed my 45 LC fantasies a while ago when it was cheaper. Between my dad’s donations and what I acquired, got a lot of bullets. But then again I have four rifles in 45 Colt. Thanks for your posts. I enjoy them.

bang buttons seems to be a big hang up. for my shooting good that you are off nice start of 2021

Nice Bisley at a very nice price! I did the same thing some years back. Picked up a Rossi M92 in .45 Colt, pretty much to go with my two other single actions at the time; a Ruger Vaquero and an EMF Hartford Model, U.S. Cavalry version. After I got the Rossi I started to look around for an Uberti single action and came across several used ones but they all seemed like they had seen better days. Then I found "It": a NIB Beretta Stampede! Fit and finish were outstanding and best of all it was in .45 Colt! Got them to come down quite a bit in price and walked away one very happy two gun buyer!

Love it! My BH is a 45LC as well, though highly polished stainless with a standard plow grip. My Bisley is a 32mag single six. I like how they used the unfluted cylinders on the Bisleys. My Bisley cylinder is engraved. Cant see yours well enough to tell if it is.

Enjoy your purchase!

well I would have gladly stretched for the Std Manufacturing SAA replica if the Ruger would have been a wash. That is maybe the most beautiful and beautifully made revolver I've laid eyes on. I just wanted to stick with Ruger, or Freedom Arms, because I knew I could load one load for both rifle and pistol instead of having to load something softer shooting for the pistol. That and my other Ruger SA is my single favorite handgun and I had no qualms at all about adding another.

Will you just stop. You always post about the sweetest things. Your going to ruin my budget. Have to say nice find. I have a bunch of .452 bullets. Let me know if I can help. Only stop with these postings. I got my dad a Blackhawk in 45 Colt. Not as nice as yours.
I bought my son a 4⅝ bh in .45colt.
Congrats @mlankton on a great revolver

Great looking gun. I’d sure like to get a 45 colt single action I love the blackhawks but already have two (.44spl 5.5” & .41mag 6.5”) so I’m not sure, but I’ll probably end up with another one just due to their strength as I have no real need to for ruger only 45colt loadings but......I like the idea of being able to shoot the hot stuff should I choose. Hahaha I can’t help myself I was looking at a 357/9mm conversation blackhawk yesterday thinking “I wonder what I could trade in on this.....”

To be honest I couldn’t in good conscience buy myself a 45 colt without buying one for my dad first. When I was a young kid we were moving yet again (thanks navy) and didn’t have a lot of money ( thanks navy), we blew out a tire on our old motorhome in the middle of nowhere and dad had to trade off his 7.5” 45 colt blackhawk for the tire work. I was about 7-8 years old at the time and I remember dad was not happy about it (to say the least) but he did what he had to do to take care of us. Now that we’re all grown, dads been retired from the navy 21 years now and about to retire from his second career. I think it’s about time I got him a replacement to show appreciation for being a great dad.

picked this revolver up at my FFL today. Looks like 100 rds tops ever went through it. The previous owner was like me and took care of his guns. It could pass for new except for the very slight drag line on the cylinder. Very happy and feel like a genius getting this gun for what I paid. The guy who bid up the Turnbull on gb did me a big favor.

Sorry, not a cell phone user so no pic to post other than the OP pic. Got the holster for it today, and 1000 45 cal bullets arrived Saturday.

I like a story with a happy ending. :)

Does that say $599?
If so, that is a screaming deal right now considering general firearms prices and the fact that I don't believe they're making those at the moment.
I may be mistaken on that part of it.

But the ones I've been seeing have been in the $800-$900 range and up.

Good score. I had a 7.5" Blackhawk stolen on Christmas eve and I hope to replace it with a Bisley.

You got a gun that you can scratch an itch for full power 45LC with. I got that itch about 10 years ago and bought a Blackhawk 5.5 inch barrel, also had 45ACP cylinder. Enjoyed that gun a lot and only sold it when my son said he was going to buy one. I bet you enjoy yours as much.
