I'm just wondering if anyone has thoughts on whether or not I should install the red dot scope that came with it. If I do install it, should I leave the front sight on? Bought this carbine over a week ago, and I have not had time to go to the range yet:cuss: Good things come to those who wait, I've heard.

Go ahead. I've owned a 9mm Hi Point carbine and it was very accurate with open sights. The 40 should be a good shooter too.
If you got it at a gun shop, most will mount the scope for you and bore sight it. Some charge for this, some don't, ask. They can also advise you about the front sight.

Great little carbine more accurate then i expected i put a red dot on mine, at 25 yrds its a tack driver, 50 yrds a little wider, keep your sites on no need to take them off enjoy!

I have an older 995 and it has fantastic sights and is very accurate. Hopefully they didnt change the sights???
