I went into Dicks to look at the Marlin 30/30 thet have on sale for $299. Its a 336a and includes base scope and rings. The dept manager helped me and showed me the display gun with a Simmons scope on it. And i decieded to take one. So he got one from the back still in the box, but the scope box and scope had no brand name on it. Didn;t look bad, but he thought i will probally like the scope from a brand name company. So he looked through a couple more boxes and all the same, no name.
So he then asked if i wanted the scope off the display and i said sure. So he went into the back and took it off the display and gave me the scope instead. He took the time to explain all about the gun and safetys. And had he check the gun over real good since there are no returns.
Also if i wanted to bring the gun back in a case they would mount the scope. Since the gun with scope would not into the box to carry it out.
Must say after dealing with Gander and Dunhams, i was impressed with the service i got there.
To bad they don;t sell handguns or C&R guns.
