at the bealton gun show in northern virginia. I bought a remington 870 with 18 barrel and a 7 round magazine. I haven't shot it yet, but spent most of yesterday familizaring myself and playing with dummy rounds. Ive shot shotguns before but very few pumps. I cant wait until this weekend to try it out!

i almost bought that same model but they were all gone when i went back with some money to get 1.seems to be popular as the dealer said he cant find anymore.ended up with a new 870 spec. purpose instead.its all remington, including the mag extension right?they are good guns.i priced a rem. factory extension for mine and they are very expensive(80 bucks)you got 1 already set up with everything.congrats..

LOL. Note that you have already admitted to this being your "first shotgun".
Welcome to the most fun per dollar in the firearm world.
Great choice on your SG model as well.

Sapper - good choice just be careful - all I had prior to buying an 870 in the same configuration was a Mossy 500 hunting shotgun...now after hanging around here I'm starting to think I need an Ithaca, and after that a Winchester and after that a Benelli, and after that...oh man this could get out of hand if I'm not careful!:D

anyway - congrats on your new toy!

Nice choice with the 870. If you have an itch for another try the Winchester 1300. I like it way better than my Rem. 870.:)
