Bounty Hunter Show on NGC/Hawaii, Cali carry laws

Watching this show on National Geo HD about a couple of CA bounty hunters...these guys are going around strapped with pistols, shotguns, rifles, in California no less.

How hard is it to get a permit if you're a bounty hunter in CA?

I wonder if "working" as a fugitive recovery agent is a loophole for those of us in no issue or may issue states...

ETA: Geeze they're carrying in Hawaii, even...how is that permitted?

I'm sure it's a disaster. Probably have to work for someone else for X amount of time, have them sign off on it, etc.

1299.10. An individual authorized by Section 1299.02 to apprehend a bail fugitive shall not carry a firearm or other weapon unless in compliance with the laws of the state.​

These bounty hunters are probably simply ignoring the law in California.

What 1299.10 says is that you can carry weapons as long as you carry them legally.

Its relatively easy in CA to get an exposed weapon permit, such as for security guards. They are only good while working though.

I think you might need to convince a judge of that at some point. besides, its a permit to carry exposed, not concealed.

Depends on what county you live in. Some CA counties are darn near "shall issue".
