Where do I get reasonably priced boxes to ship my rifles and long guns in? I've run out of boxes that guns were sent to me in and I need to ship some to the lesser 48. How does everybody else do this? BTW, I need the boxes here in Anchorage, so I'd have to ship them up here.

You might want to give AIM surplus or SOG a call. They might share their supplier's name. They ship in nice cartons ...and I'm sure they do not pay top $ for them.

For $25 plus shipping to Alaska, I could go to Sportsman's Warehouse and get me a nice plastic case. What I need are cheap ones less than $5 shipped here.

paying air freight to AK for 3 dollar shipping boxes is prolly a false economy
heck to UPS ground ship a 10 pack to MD is 20 bucks

what i would do is find a bicycle shop and get bike boxes and cut them down to size

or call these guys and see what box sizes they stock:

I did a Google search on "shipping boxes", and came up with this address:

http://www.uline.com/BoxListing7.asp

Their longest is 48" which should be OK for most rifles, and they sell for about $2.00 per box in quantities of 25. They also have bubble wrap and other shipping supplies.

There are several other companies, also.
