I don't have access to the manufacturer's websites here at work, and no one locally carries black powder revolvers (other than one shop that had a rather large Walker in the case). I'm trying to get an idea of the size of the following revolvers, and I figure they don't vary too much from one manufacturer to the next.

If possible, can somebody post or direct me to pictures of size comparisons between any of the following and a common, modern revolver like a S&W M10 or the like? Even an semi-auto comparison (or any common object like a dollar) would do. Much thanks for any info.

Remington 1858 (.44 and .36, was there a difference in the frame/cylinder size between the two?)
Colt 1851 & 1861 Navy

There was a difference in the frame and grip size between .36 cal Remington New Navy and the .44 cal Remington New Army, the .36 being smaller.

The current production Italian replicas do not have different sizes, however; both the .36 and .44 have a frame and grip that reproduces the original .44 frame and grip size.

I believe that Uberti made a replica .36 with the same size grip and frame as the original .36, although I do not have one to confirm that. Others have told me they believe that is incorrect, but we've not been able to confirm or refute the claim. It is no longer being made, from what I understand.

That's it? Well, I managed to find a local shop that specializes in black powder gear. He had a few revolvers, and the 1851 Navy (Uberti replica) won me over. I'll be picking it up Friday, and posting pictures then.

I'll post a picture of a size comparison in a bit. Just thought I'd share this one for now.

This kind of comparison most people should be able to relate to.
