Im taking my new Crockett rifle out for the first time on Friday morning. Obviously after Im done shooting, Im going to want to clean it. The instructions tell me to remove the barrel from the stock to access the clean out port and for quicker, more thorough cleaning, but...

...HOW DO I REMOVE THE BARREL FROM THE STOCK?

Thanks!
Joe

Since the Crockett doesn't have a hooked breech, you must remove the tang screw at the top of the back end of the barrel. The tang looks like an flat, thin extension of the barrel that's inletted into the top of the pistol grip.
The screw connects down through the wood into the trigger plate I believe.

Yep.

Place hammer in half cock position.
Remove tang screw.
Remove barrel wedge key.
Grasp barrel near muzzle and gently lift up while simultaneously pulling down on stock near wedge key hole.
