Wonder wads. My local Gun shop sells them at 4.00 for 50. they normally have about 2 packs on stock. Last time i went shooting i purchased them for 5.00 for 50. So i have looking all over the place for a really good source of wads. I thought of making them myself, Tried to find the wad punch locally however i still have not found them. So i stopped. If i find them i find them. However it seems like once i order the felt buy the wad cutter then start making wads i will be in to it a lot of time and money. Id rather just go in the back and cast more bullets. So i came across vegetable fibre wads at Cabelas. The price looked very attractive. $17.00 for 1000. Thats what im talking about. 1000 will last me a while. heck with those packs of 50. So i ordered them well yesterday i used them. I was using the fibre wads exclusevly in my walker. Then i used them in my 1860 and Wonder wads in my 1851. Overall matching them for cleaning of the guns. Both wonder wads and the fibre wads left the guns in the same condition. The felt wads to go in easier as they are thick felt wads. The fibre wads took some care in putting them in. Best part was in shooting 55 grains of bp in my walker the felt wads were too thick to put in. The fibre wads were perfect. i purchased the .030 thickness 45 cal fibre wads to use in 44 bp. Here is a link to the wads.

Oh they are currently on sale too.

Casting bullets for 12 guns then reloading for 9 center fire guns. The last thing i need to do is find more time to make wads. So these fibre wads at 16. per 1000 are just for me.
