We're hearing that Senator Daschle has been getting a lot of heat from our side as a result of the Senator's cosponsorship of the immunity bill (S. 659)! Congratulations!!!!!! Your communications are an important reminder that the vast majority of Americans support the Million Mom March agenda, not the extremist positions of the NRA.

And, the fight to protect gun violence victims IS NOT OVER.

We can still win this battle if all Senators hear our voices loud and clear. Generally, we need to let all Senators know that the NRA/Daschle amendment will not help gun violence victims.

If one or more of your Senators is a cosponsor, tell them that you are gravely disappointed that they are supporting S. 659 and they SHOULD WITHDRAW as a cosponsor. It is especially important that cosponsoring Senators who are up for reelection in 2004, for example, Senator Specter (R-PA) and Senator Voinovich, (R-OH), know of your disappointment and that YOU WILL BE WATCHING HOW THEY VOTE ON THIS ISSUE.

If you want to review the list of co-sponsors, you can find it at: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery.

We also need to contact, and have friends and family contact, all of the senators who have NOT cosponsored S. 659. Urge them to stay off the bill and to SUPPORT a filibuster. If they say they are with us, urge them to convince their Senate colleagues to also oppose the bill.

ACTION ALERT:

Below are two lists. The first is a list of Senators who have NOT cosponsored S. 659. Call these Senators and urge them to:
Oppose S. 659
Support a filibuster of the bill.

The second list is of Senators who have COSPONSORED S. 659. Call them and urge them to WITHDRAW as cosponsors:

E-MAIL your Senators by clicking here: www.bradycampaign.org.

WRITE or FAX your Senators by clicking here: http://capwiz.com/brady/dbq/officials/.

CALL your Senators via the Capitol Switchboard at: 202-224-3121.

...the vast majority of Americans support the Million Mom March agenda, not the extremist positions of the NRA.

Honestly, I don't think most Americans care much about EITHER the Million Mom March's or the NRA's agenda: most are neither pro- or anti- gun.

Its the "neutrals" we have to educate, MMM's response is emotional, and can't be swayed with facts.

It would be a waste of time to write Fineswine & Boxer. So long as the electorate keeps electing them, they're confident that they're on the right track. Now, if they barely squeaked by, they may sit up and listen.

:barf:

Your communications are an important reminder that the vast majority of Americans support the Million Mom March agenda, not the extremist positions of the NRA.

You bliss-ninnies are a lot more "extremist" than us

It would be kinda nice if the NRA really did take an extremist position once in a while, but any organization that scares the bed-wetters this badly can't be all bad. ;)
