Brady endorsment of DeWine. Was it meant to sink him?

Sceond Amendment wise, Ohio is in trouble with either RINO Mike DeWine or Sherrod Brown. Neither one of them are friends of people that want to be able to defend themselves.

We are left with a very poor choice in the Senate race here in Ohio. I swore I wouldn't vote for DeWine again after some of his BS when the AWB was expiring....not to mention his consistent opposition to the immunity law for gun makers. But voting against him, and if he loses and the Repubs lose the House/
Senate, then we gun owners are in for a rough ride. At least with the GOP majority we have some assurances that we won't see the AWB revived etc, but put Reid and Pelosi in charge and I'm thinking we're gonna have problems...lots of 'em.

Unless persuaded otherwise, I hvae decided to abstain from voting in the Ohio US Senate race. I understand that that helps a Dem gun grabber win over a RINO gun grabber. I don't know what else to do.

My fear is that the Ohio Republican party will not understand why so many "Rs" will lose in Ohio this year and respond by offering even more "moderate" candidates next time. :banghead: Perhaps if Blackwell wins they will understand that we will come out and vote for an actual conservative if given the choice. In that race (governor), however, the Dems have offered up a pro-gun (allegedly) liberal.

...who's running with Lee Fisher.

That's like an alleged civil rights advocate running with David Duke. Something doesn't add up there.

I hope that Blackwell wins. If he doesn't and Strickland actually turns out to be pro-gun, I'll be the first one to admit it. Of course if I see Bigfoot walking down Center Ridge Rd. in Rocky River, I'll admit that too...

Too bad that in the Ohio {US} Senate Seat race, there is not a selection for "none of the above"....

What a choice.....RINO or Flaming Liberal.....sheeeeeeeeeeeeessshhhhhhh

Easy decision: vote for RINO = better chance at pro 2A SCOTUS judges. This is the only issue that will really matter in the next 2-8 years anyway.

Ah, but our particular RINO was one of the turncoats on judicial nominations. Overall, your theory holds true. In this instance, however, we're still up the creek.

Democrats take control of the Senate and Chuck Schumer becomes head of the Senate Judiciary Committee. How many gun owners think that would be a good thing?

Dewhine does support gun control.

However he is not nearly as liberal or left as Sherrod Brown.

Brown is an uber lefty, unlike Paul Hackett who got screwed over by the DNC and supported our rights.

If Bush gets to appoint one more SCOTUS judge, you'd better have an R in that seat, to if nothing else, keep Schumer or Leaky Leahy from controlling the Judiciary.

Just my thoughts.

Too bad Hackett got screwed over.

I've been mulling this over, too.

We've got a clear choice for governor, but the senate seats are pretty grey. Leftist on one hand and a RINO on the other. I can't decide if I should keep thinking about it, flip a coin on election day, or skip that line on the ballot.

And there in lies the rub. Do you reward the lying swine who still campaigns as being a protector of the Second Amendment with six more years in the US Senate ? Or do you nail him and send him into retirement in Cedarvile Ohio. I think the chances are good that Ginsburg, Stevens or both will step down. She is clearly sick and he is 86. I will pinch my nose and vote for Mike so that we can make sure of having a better chance of a conservative appointment. If Schumer and Kennedy are calling the shots we will get something as bad as Sandra Day O'Connor. We have to remember Supreme Court Justices stay for decades. Stevens has been there nearly 30 years.......Yeah, I will vote for DeWine, but I don't have to like it.......

So we reward dewine with a win this November because he is a Republican and not for what he stands for (RHINO). What dose that tell the rest of the Republicans? Will they support gun owners or will they think they have our vote because they are Republicans and we won't vote for a Democrat? I will not vote for dewine nor will the rest of my family.
