I am not as good as others with a bipod. Too much spring. I shoot best off a solid rest. I had viper build me one. On my Barrett or AR's I use a Harris adjustable.

I have 2 types 6-9 br
And 6-12

I prefer the br as it has a compression know along with positive stop

I see alot of bi-pods in this thread. What length do you gents use? I am thinking about putting one on my Savage.

I've got a bunch of Harris bipods with the pod lock feature (five I think), a carbon fiber Javelin bipod, an AI bipod and a couple of M249 bipods. Last week I bought an Atlas bipod and won't buy another Harris for a "tactical" rifle. The Atlas is a really nice bipod with a bunch of great features. It's easier to shoot off and much more stable when "stacking" which equates to better accuracy. It has an excellent/adjustable cant/rotation feature, is more configurable for different situations, is quieter without those clangy springs, is made from top quality material, has accessories to help mount to different rifles, has leg extensions, fits a variety of feet and doesn't collapse if you pull back on the rifle. Buy once, cry once is my advice. My only regret is that I didn't buy two or three a long time ago.
