Gentlefolks,
As you already know, I have been looking into the possibility of having our own forum site. I suppose that M1911.ORG has grown enough in popularity and esteem, to require its own forum site, where members can discuss the issues of their favorite pistol.
The decision to open up a forums site, was not an easy one. For years, M1911.ORG was associated with 1911FORUM.COM, which served perfectly as our forum site. The reasons for opening our own forums have nothing to do with 1911FORUM.COM being bad or what. Jason has been a great help, when M1911.ORG had no forum whatsoever, and of course, his site is a valuable resource for shooters.
However, a site which is not under my control, is still a site over which I have no influence. During the latest 1911FORUM.COM outage, a lot of people have written to me, suggesting that a new forum would be welcome.
I am sure there is enough "room" out there, for another forum, especially for this one, which comes from the most respected and recognized Internet resource, on the M-1911 pistol, The M-1911 Pistols Home Page or M1911.ORG.
I plan to run this forum, the way I've been running the M1911.ORG mailing list during all these years. The list has been a "gentlemen playground", where members could exchange opinions, ask for help or whatever, as long as it was related the the M-1911. The same will hold for the forums.
