Anyone having problems with The Brass Exchange? I've ordered from them in the past without any problems. But on March 6th, I ordered some 380 auto brass that was apparently in stock. I asked for an update about a month later and then again a couple days ago. No reply from them. I know their website says sometimes it could be 90 days before shipment, but why so long if it's in stock? And it would be nice to get a reply.
Guess I don't get it.

Probably getting more requests than they can answer. Probably better use of the staff to fill orders than to answer questions about orders.

I placed an order for some 380 brass also. I ordered 2/19. Last week on 5/11 I sent an email asking for an order update. I still haven't seen or heard anything. I want to order more from them, but thought I better go with a small order to start and test the waters.

i have used diamond k brass alot anytime i have had questions i am able to call and talk to a person and get taken care of i just checked before posting and they had 380 available at this time but not sure if the price is comparable i havent checked brass exchange

That's an awful long time to go without an update, even if they are busy.

I too have been waiting past the 60 days and have received nothing. No one answers the phone, no voice mail and no response to an email several weeks ago.

Do they charge ya when you place the order, or at shipment? While a delay in getting back to you may be appropriate, I don’t think a delay of over a month with our any response is appropriate - especially if they have your money.

However, this perspective is coming from a consumer! I imagine they are swamped selling brass and trying to use their time to get packages out!

They charge when you place the order. I've initiated an inquiry through AMEX.

To prevent bad press and rumors they need to at least put something on their web page and on their Facebook page. It wouldn't take that long and would go a long way to placate consumers. Taking longer than expected is understandable. Leaving customers in the dark is not.

i am no techie but i would expect it wouldnt be that hard to send a blanket email to everyone that has an order waiting longer than the expected lead time. at least let ya know they havent forgot about ya

I've noticed that a lot of online sellers will claim to have something in stock when they don't. People are more apt to order something if it's "in stock".
I paid a little extra for a Plinkster 22LR mag because they claimed it was in stock.
Later they replied that it wasn't in stock and it would take 60 days to get it to me.

I don't know about AMEX and whether they will help with older purchases. AMEX, from their web site seems to be lenient with suppliers for Flu related delays, so I'm hoping that they'll also be lenient with any limitations on investigating older purchases.

But this could go four ways without the CC company.

a) They're struggling and will finally fulfil the order.
b) They'll refund the money.
c) They've declared bankruptcy. (I've found no record of such.)
d) They've just totally closed shop, in which case I believe they could be open to criminal charges. I'm guessing one could also pursue civil as well.

I completely agree with that thought! Only a few moments are needed to put out a general note to convey a message to all the folks who have sent them money.

Strange? While I've received no direct commutations from BE and the web page still claims 60 days, with a range of 30-90, I have a $2.31 credit on my cc. That's about 1.1% of the total.

Just refreshed the CC page, cause Miss Kitty wanted to see all the charges, and lo and behold there's a full credit on there now.

They're alive at least.

Double checked the web page (this has been over a 15 minutes period) and the order is still showing as "invoiced", but not shipped or cancelled.

Also the owner sometimes shoots at a local indoor league I'm going to tonight. I checked and he's not pre-registered, though sometimes he shows up at the last minute. If so I'll try to get the whole story.

Saw the Brass Exchange owner at Thursday night's match. He was on a different squad and I didn't want to just walk up and ambush him. Besides we shoot 4 stages in an hour with small squads so we are rather hustling. Sorry. Maybe in 2 weeks.

I did get a full refund, but don't know if that was because of AMEX or my direct inquiries.

I go through ton of brass and I second DIAMOND K is my go to without fail 2 or 3 day turnaround always get more than I ordered & spectacular service!!

Update: Just got a shipping notification this afternoon.
"Note To Recipient: Thank you for your patience. Covid-19 had a rough affect on our business but we are back up and running."

While I still haven't directly accousted the owner, I did get some scuttlebutt from GA Brass.

It seems the supply of range brass is way down. Not only are people shooting much less, theyre using more steel these days. And more people are saving their brass. So a supply problem coupled with a labor shortage may be to blame. Have patience, be kind.
