Clean off the factory lube/preservative. Oil as necessary. Load mag, load gun, aim, safely shoot at something like a target.

Hello,my PT92 is 11 years old and has never failed once.Thousands of rounds through it.I have heard that the locking block should be replaced at 5,000 rnds all over the internet but the ratio from who said it should be replaced to how many have broken is very slim.I have not replaced mine and with the proper cleaning and taking care of,I don't see a problem. They are great guns and will serve you well.Mine is a daily carry gun, along with a few others, and gets shot on a weekly basis.I trust my life and my family,s with it.Just like all other self defense firearms,it is a personal choice and has to fit you and your life style. Some will put certain guns down because they didn't work for them. It's a big gun,it has to fit you.As far as 9mm,it's cheap to practice with and it will feed any ammo and in the right hands it is extremely accurate. Some say it is to big for a 9mm.That statement is totally bogus. If it fits your hand, then it's not to big.Breaking it in,200 to 300 rnds will smooth out the bore and accuracy will tighten up.I never put oil in the bore.Just clean with hoppes and dry it out.Oil the frame rails, keep the locking block oiled,a drop on the end of the outside of the barrel, and a drop in the hammer action and your good to go.

thanks vic, but i noticed that the barrel is wiggling side to side, is that normal? and i bought teflon coated 9mm ammo for practice only, is that ok?

any advice regarding this 9mm pistol?

Yeah. Clean it, shoot it, repeat.:D

Enjoy it. It shouldn't need very much break-in. They're good solid tough guns and should last a long time.

One little thing, though. Don't go messin' around with it with the grips off. There's a small spring on the triggerbar that likes to pop out and if you don't know what the correct orientation is, you're gonna need one of those firearms disassembly manuals. Only real problem I ever had with it.
